It’s Their Bird Time is an ad campaign that seeks to inform about light pollution and its effects on an animal’s life cycles. The campaign encourages people to be considerate about the amount ofelectricity they use at home.
It also promotes the use of street lights designed to produce the least amount of light meant to illuminate cities, not skies.
The campaign uses illustrations of personified birds to represent how disturbing light pollution it is for them. The diurnal birds’ sleep schedule is affected by intense light – thinking it is daytime. Meanwhile, nocturnal birds can be blinded temporarily by intense light, and migratory birds, that use the stars as guidance, are unable to see them due to city lights.
