Nueva Mississippi is a UM Faculty Laureate Project that promotes bilingualism, with a particular focus on Spanish. The project amplifies the voices of Hispanic families across Mississippi, supports opportunities for non-Spanish speakers to learn Spanish regardless of their cultural background, and documents how communities throughout the state interact with Mississippi’s Latino population.
Although the project emphasizes Latin American culture in Mississippi, it is intended for a broad audience, including native Spanish speakers, people learning Spanish, and those interested in learning more about different Latino cultures.
This branding concept was developed for a client project in a university branding course. The proposal was presented directly to the client and was recognized among the top submissions, but was not selected for implementation.
