Nueva Mississippi is a UM faculty Laurate Project that seeks to promote biligualism – more specifically for the Spanish language – by giving hispanic families a voice across the state of Mississippi. It promotes the education of the Spanish language to Non-spanish speakers regardless of their heritage, and by documenting how communities in the state of Mississippi interact with the Latino population.
Although the emphasis is in Latin American culture in Mississippi this project is directed to any native Spanish speakers, and person who is learning or interested in learning the Spanish language and about different Latino cultures.
